The Class Website has a counter on the main index page of our site. At the end of December, 2001 this counter registered 9,522 visitors for the previous 14 month period. While that number is pretty impressive, it is important to point out that this counter measures only the number of visitors that enter or visit our site via that specific index page. Many people enter via other pages within the site. For example: search engines, reciprocating links on other sites that link to pages other than the index page, visitors and Members that access the site via the bulletin board links, and so on. Our site also has a program the measures all the traffic that enters our site regardless of the entry page. This is where the numbers really start to tell the story. Since October 2000, the web site has received nearly 28,000 unique hits or visits! The following traffic numbers are measured as a unique visitor in a 24-hour period. A unique visitor is recorded as a one hit or visit by any one person coming to our site, regardless of how many times they visit within a 24-hour period. The web site is averaging over 60 unique visits per day! From the beginning of October 2000 through the end of December 2001 (a 14-month period) our site had 27,833 unique hits or visits. This averages to 1,855 unique hits per month and 62 unique hits or visits per day. For a site of our type these are extremely high numbers. Reviewing other one design class websites, both factory sponsored and class only sponsored, we are seeing a tremendous amount of traffic. |
