Thanks everbody for the overwhelming response! I have had some great offers and will probably take up on more than just one time permitting. Man this is a great website. Renewing my class association membership! Thanks again, Sail Fast! Shep Shirley, "Lightning Rod" |

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a 9.1 down in the panhandle of Florida. Occasionally we can really turn up the speed, but usually I am not sailing to the rating....most of it is crew work and we are working that, but even with the crew work going well, I sometimes just sit. I know that the key is to get more time on the boat. --Factors, 1) Based on the survey, the core is not wet therefore not heavy 2)--Tuned basically according to Jobson's instructions in Speed Sailing 3) Sails are great 4) Probably don't sail it flat enuf as we are short handed. What I would like to do is beg a ride on a competitive S2 up north and see what you guys do. I have been racing since I was 6 and can handle any job on the boat. I am an airline pilot so travel is not a consideration, I can get up there whenever you will have me. Best time is at the end of May when the wife and kids are traveling to her mom's house. If you would be willing to share some expertise, I would love to come up there and crew for you. Please call me or email me. 850-678-7655 (hm) 850-543-1265 (Cell) or email me at wtsshirley@aol.com....use S2 in the subject so I don't delete it as spam... Thanks Shep Shirley "Lightning Rod" |
