Hello all, I recently took delivery of hull # 50 which is now located at the Sarnia Yacht Club in Sarnia Ontario. She came from the Boston area and I am currently working through a major refit. Looking forward to my first sail, mid May I hope. I crewed on a SE back in 87 but have not sailed on one since. Gary |

Hi Everyone. I bought Lightning Rod from Shep Shirley about 5 months ago. I raced her in the end of the FWYC Wednesday night races and a few others. We will be racing four more races this winter through January and February, so if anybody needs a racing fix off-season and wants to help me learn how to get the most out of a great boat, plan a trip down to Florida and race with us! I'd love to have some experienced 9.1 crew to sail with. Dave Eames |

Hi everyone, I purchased Heart Breaker, out of Vermillion OH, in the spring of this year. I sailed her back to Bronte, Ontario, Canada (BHYC) in April - by way of the Welland canal. She is a great boat, even though she does need a bit of work. The 9.1 seems to me to be the ideal race/cruiser. This season I have been on 3 cruises of 4-6 days, sailed in excess of 60 races, and the run down Lake Erie solo she handled very well single handed. She actually caused quite a stirr on the BHYC race course - so much so that another member has already bought one, and before he sold is current one. Hopefull I will get to meet up with a few of the other 9.1's over the next few years and try a little class racing. Maybe Youngstown if any erie boats go - or BHYS's own Bronte Rocks, where there will be 3 so far. Michael Judd (Heart Breaker S2 9.1 #124) |

Hi everyone, I purchased hull 88 "Boomerang" last summer and sail out of Port Huron, MI. Thanks to all for their input on this website. It is an exellent source for information. I was wondering if anyone has an interior manual bilge pump. If so what kind (model and brand) and where is it installed. Any tips on installing a new one would be welcomed. Thanks, Matt Scrhiner (Mattschriner5@aol.com) |

Hi everyone, I am the new owner of "Nomad," Gary Hendrickson's 9.1m. I'm renaming her to "Truant" ('cause I'll be ditching out on my responsibilities when I'm sailing her) and moving her to Chicago. I hope to get involved in racing in MORF and a couple of the big regattas in the area. If any of you have photos of Nomad/UffDa/Celerity in action (sail no. 40202), I'd love to see them. We just got Pagan Baby - renaming it to Paladen (after my wife and I, PALoma And brayDEN). So I know it is a tad mispelled - but in reality who could spell in the darkages anyway <grin>. We will be moving the boat from Mt. Clements MI to LSYC in Toronto ON. We will be full of questions about this boat (read my lips: racing tune for the rig, and any speed tips you can toss at me) - we have never had the resource of other owners/class association before. This is very exciting. We will make sure to fill in the class application form and mail it in shortly. Nice to meet all of you. |

I just purchased a 10.3 ex "Allegro" in annapolis and then ex "Atropos" in Holland and now "Just Duet" in Holland. I have been a faithful 9.1 site reader for a about a year while I have been looking at boats. THis site is EXCELLANT, Espeacially since so much of the repair, maintenance, and construction information is similair between the 9.1 and 10.3 and it is very active site. To answer the question about a 8.6 site, their is a site for S2's: http://hometown.aol.com/s2owners/s2home.htm however it is quite lame compared to this one and the 7.9 site and does not address the 8.6 specifically. How about the 9.1 crowd allowing a 10.3 section on this site also since no 10.3 site exists? Even if not, I still compliment the "crew" and will continue to enjoy reading the material such as the repair job Jeff is doing in the mast step area. Its better than reading "Practical Sailer". thanks Mike Toth |

I just purchased hull #81, which is one of the liberty cup boats. I have already asked a bunch of questions in the Techincal Discussion section and hope to use the class website to gather and share information with other 9.1 sailors. I am plannig to use the boat for a lot of daysailing with my wife and young daughter, do some club racing, and some weekend cruising. My previous boat was an S2 6.9. I loved that boat and the 9.1 feels like a big brother to it. Hope to get to know you all. |

Tod is a new member and sent me the following email. If there is anyone in the Chicago area that can hook up with him next week drop him a line.Tod Marder I am a new owner preparing to race my S2 9.1 for the first season. Because I live in New Jersey, I'd be interested in getting in touch with owners in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut area, and wondered if you could provide some contact names. I will be in Chicago at the first of March and wondered if there is anyone there I could look up for additional information. I've already joined the class association but hesitate to pepper the discussion there with a thousand questions, when it would be best to address those people who have been really successful campaigning their boats. My thanks, Tod Marder "Galatea" #73 (ex-Slipstream) |

Ithaca NY - Richard Steinacher recently discovered the Class via the web and reports that he purchased Exel in the Spring of 1999. They sail out of Ithaca Yacht Club on Cayuga Lake. Richard is looking for advice on upgrades and equipment for “fast cruising”. |

I purchased "Air Rights" based on the posting in the s29.1's for sale. This webb site works. It is wonderful and so is "Air Rights." I am now selling my Morgan 27 if anyone is interested. Steve Stanley, sail2727@aol.com. (813)258-2727. |
