Call 1-847-677-1234. At this year’s Annual Class Meeting, the Class will discuss many matters of importance to all members. Please review the following and plan to attend. If you cannot attend, please contact a Class Officer. At the top of this year's topics will be the recruitment of Officers to fill vacancies left in 2003. The survival of the Class and the continuance of the services it provides depend entirely upon the support and involvement of its members. Due to transitions in ownership and other reasons, the Class is currently in urgent need of volunteers to help perform the limited number of yearly tasks performed by the Officers. It should be noted that geographic location is not a barrier to service as a Class Officer! The Class web site and electronic communication make it easy for anyone anywhere to fulfill the minimal obligations of Officership. Each Officer position truly requires very little effort if the load is shared among several people. In a nutshell it breaks down like this for a few of the most critical roles: Commodore: Serve as the voice and spokesperson of the Class when necessary (pretty easy!). Secretary: Maintain the membership database and record paid memberships (it’s all in Excel). Treasurer: Receive dues, make a few deposits, write 2-3 checks/year and reconcile the checkbook. Webmaster: Simply keep our very reliable web site running and improve it as time permits. We humbly ask that each of you give serious consideration to serving the Class in one of these positions or the others listed below. We also encourage you to contact and remind other owners in your area of this urgent Class need. In addition to elections, we will be focusing heavily on local and regional fleet development. Several areas of the country have been identified as potential fleets. If you have any interest in this issue, we strongly encourage you to attend or contact the Officers regarding this tremendous opportunity to expand the success of the Class. The agenda for the meeting follows: OLD BUSINESS Reviews and updates on: Membership and boat database Finances and dues Web site activities 2003 Class events and results NEW BUSINESS Membership and recruitment efforts Regional and local fleet development Discuss potential fleets on Lake Erie, Florida and East Coast Expanding benefits of paid membership Web site maintenance, improvements Publicity efforts and Class communications Review electronic versus printed communications Rules: Review Officer positions and responsibilities Review fleet requirements in By Laws Discuss a traveling North American Championship and/or trophy Establish 2004 North American Championship OFFICER RECRUITMENT Governing Committee Commodore Past Commodore Secretary/Treasurer Rules Chairman Racing Chairman Secondary Officers Webmaster Membership Director Sportswear Chairman Publicity Director To confirm your attendance or for more information, please contact: Scott Corder Class Commodore 7436 Brooks Lane NE Rockford, MI 49341 616-866-2670 home 616-485-3400 mobile |
